Chelsea Jade takes articulate, contemporary alt-pop to new heights with “Low Brow,” a song with the impressive ability to swoon the cerebral and emotional alike.
Speaking to a toxic individual who’s presence makes her feel less cultured and intelligent, Chelsea Jade makes her point with perfect airy vocals, on point beat, and some really smart visuals. An example of the latter is the bit where you see her face distorted by gusts of wind. Up to that point her talented contemporary dance had been a spot of thought provoking art. Then comes the hilarious few moments where she struggles to sing with the wind distorting her face, and I realized that moment was the kind of low brow humor that contrasted the rest of the song and deepened the theme of being made to feel more base than you actually are. Anyways, enjoy!
