Despite her strong previous releases, Liyv’s “V Lonely” is quickly becoming one of my favourites.
“V Lonely” is her 6th “once a month” release. Publishing a song a month is a bold choice. Oh Wonder did it and gained massive notoriety by the end of a single year. A regular, steady release of music can build hype very effectively only if your music is consistently excellent. And so far, I’d say this girl has hit the mark.
I love the subtle, yet lush instrumentation in this one. The gentle twinkling and muted percussion leave plenty of room for her buffed-smooth vocals. With all the bright feelings it’s the subject matter than gives it depth; as she says in her bio “I make songs for sad people who like bright colors.” Enjoy!
