Novo Amor has created some of the most breath-taking pieces in my collection, and Ed Tullett has a highly respectable knack for harmony, falsetto, and dramatic production. Their union of similar sensibilities make for an almost unfairly stacked alliance, the results of which are “Alps” and the critically celebrated”Faux.“
The two like to juxtapose musically ethereal aesthetics with lyrically troubled themes. They told The Line of Best Fit, for example, that “Alps” is about the difficult temptation to revisit an old love with the knowledge that if you do, it will end up badly for both parties. The artwork and video further the theme in different ways, but I’ll leave you to ponder that. Enjoy!
